I build this mini diorama for my entry in Imoutou HGUC group build
at first I want to build this battle diorama, with a couple of 1/144 EFGF M61A5 "Semovente" Main Battle Tanks and Zaku 2 from the HGUC hardgraph series I bought before, but because of my busy schedule lately,
I must change it to a simple mini diorama that consist of only a 1/144 EFGF M61A5 Semovente Main Battle Tank :p
First of all I get rid of the extra part that usually added to prevent the small part from breaking
like this rifle
and then fill in the hollow part with Tamiya epoxy putty
and then add up a little detail on the tank
after that painful works with these small parts, I start to add the Tamiya Fine primer surface
And also I make this mini diorama with gypsum, make some tank trail on the diorama while the gypsum casting is still not cured.
After 2 days I start to add some colors to the diorama
I spray it first with a couple Tamiya Flat Aclyric paints
then add up some greenery and finiish it with some Tamiya Enamel to make the wet surface effect
and this are not suppose to be grass, just some mosses or green thing that there on a damp and humid surface
Then I start doing it with the tank too with a couple Enamel paints on it
I still didn't add some washing, and detail painting on the tanks, also the figure that pop out of the upper hatch (sorry I'm not a military kit modeler so I didn't know anything about tanks)
And this is the result for the moment
Need some advice on it, Hope I can finnish this kit in time :)

It's looking great! You could also add more texture to the ground by using real sand, mix the sand with white glue and paint after you apply the sand to the base.
ReplyDeletethanks H4mster, I will try that later :)
DeleteHello, I just found the Gundam kit that contains the little tanks. I was wondering what the dimensions of the M61 are in that scale? If you would be able to tell me how long and wide the main hull is? how high is the model with the turret taken into account?
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot,
Chris
hello Sgt.Scream, the dimensions of the M16 are:
Deletethe main hull about 30mm wide and 55mm long and it's about 25mm high with the turret into account
I hope that's enough information for you :)
